In workshops, water helps participants stay hydrated and focused. This is important when participants are learning about important things like themselves and how to communicate with others. So if you have some water nearby why not try this energiser?

1. Ask participants to have a big sip of water and savour it. Plain milk works well too unless anyone has allergies.

2. Ask everyone to describe the taste of it.
  • What does it remind them of?
  • Do they say the same thing as others?

This is another quick reminder that people experience things differently. Also that people use information is very different ways. For example one person may say that water reminds them of the need to drink at least 2 litres a day to stay healthy. Another person may say that it reminds them of the frailty of humankind because without water we would not survive. This can be a challenge and it’s interesting to see how participants form their answers.

If you are using Team Management Profiles, this energiser works well with the second RIDO scale which looks at your preference to use information in either a Practical or Creative way at work.
