Good things come in 3s

Sarah’s post from last month inspired me to run an exercise in a TMP debrief session recently.

Working with a group of senior leaders within a leadership development programme, we had plenty of fun and generated a lot of constructive discussion by using a variation of the Speed Dating exercise that Sarah described.

FC Business Solutions takes TMS to the next level

FC Business Solutions is a highly experienced and vibrant TMS client in Melbourne who is always looking at how they can take TMS to the next level. Their most recent exploration was into the Team Performance Profile (TPP). And what better way to explore this than to experience the process themselves!

Training Tip: Spinning Around the Wheel

How often do you place yourself into someone else’s shoes?

At TMS, we know this is not easy…but it is possible. And helpful!

Those of you who have received a Team Management Profile (TMP) will know that it all starts with self-awareness. Having a simple and practical language to explain how we see the world makes a difference too.

State Library of Victoria Keeps TMS on the Agenda

Every now and again we run sessions for our valued clients to help them revisit their Team Management Profiles and discover new ways to apply it to their everyday work.

We all know Confucius’ observation above and this is the goal of training activities, that participants can apply what they’ve learnt and do so with understanding.

This is why skill practice is so important in our sessions; if we want people to do things differently we should provide them with many opportunities to practice.

Training Tip: TMS Speed Dating Activity

Are you looking for an energising activity to encourage learners to share their Team Management Profiles (TMPs) in a fun way?

If yes, TMS Speed Dating is the answer. If Speed Dating is not a term you think your learners will be comfortable with, you can always change it to something else like Speed Networking or Speedy Meetings. But remember the purpose is the same whatever the name - to fast-track information sharing within teams.

Training Tips: Go stand in the corner...

Here’s a really simple activity you can use in any workshop setting when you want to explore diversity.  I’ve used this exercise with 8 participants and up to 130!  I usually run this at the beginning of a session as an icebreaker, but it also works well at any point throughout the day when you need an energiser to reinvigorate participants, or as a lead-in to a session on diversity & understanding others.
Here’s what to do:
