Under the Pump?

Have ever felt like the person in this image? If your head is on your desk and your workload is growing as you read this, there is one thing you need to try.  We call it ‘Maintaining’.

Engagement at Work

The use of psychometric profiles in business has been growing in popularity since the 1970’s. The business case being that you have more control over the factors which you are aware and can measure.

Training Tip: Creativity takes 2!

Creativity is highly sought after in many organisations. Whether you’re a team of 1 or a company of thousands you can optimise creativity by harnessing the 2 ways people like to gather and use information at work.

Introducing new Apps

Late last year, we were thrilled to launch our new Apps for Team Management E-Profile users. We were even more thrilled to see many accredited Network Members trial these new features over the last couple of months. As always, our goal of introducing these new features for the Team Management Profile is to enhance the Profile feedback so our accredited facilitators can continue to deliver more value to their learners and clients.

Training Tips: Magic Meetings

People approach work in different ways. Sometimes these differences get in the way of effective interactions with others, especially in team meetings.

The session plan below uses the RIDO constructs to develop a list of 'Meeting Ground Rules'. This will provide a guide for behaviour and help to improve the team’s effectiveness and efficiency in meetings.

Teamwork wins the Cup

I am not sure if this is the case in your house, but recently my TV has been dominated by the Soccer World Cup - grown men crying and the constant drone of the vuvuzelas. This, punctuated by Wimbledon, State of Origin and the AFL, means that a glass of wine and a chick flick has been scheduled for a before breakfast time slot, which is an interesting way to start the day.

The easiest way to turnaround performance

Overheard at a professional development seminar:

“Steve (name changed for privacy reasons) is not pulling his weight. I don’t care whether he likes his job or not. He’s just going to have to step up. It’s why we pay him!”

I’m sure this scenario plagues many managers. Every organisation at some point in time has to deal with improving performance of employees.

Tips for Engaging Learners

As a trainer or facilitator, you need to make sure your learners are engaged. Otherwise they won’t get the message loud and clear, let alone transfer it back to the workplace. What better way to engage learners than by giving them what they want. But what do learners want?
